do you want to talk about social media?

Filed under: social media — muhammad saleem @ 4:13 pm

rss definitely its place on my computer and in my workflow, but have you ever wanted an incredibly easy way to share your musings and get feedback on them? how about easily receive other people’s thoughts and discuss them live? and finally, the ability to aggregate all your activity across the social web in one place?

if you have, and you’re interested in social media, well then you’d better be joining a friendfeed room i just created for those exact purposes: the friendfeed social media room.

a room is like a mini friendfeed for a particular subject or group of people. you can make a room for your family, your work team, or your knitting club.

guest post at read/writeweb - knewsroom: a look at the latest social news site

Filed under: social media — muhammad saleem @ 2:29 pm

i’ve written a guest post at read/writeweb on what could’ve been the future of the social news space.

the way we create, interact with, and share information on the web is continuously changing, and at a very rapid pace. the end goal, most would argue, is the create a medium that completely democratizes the entire process. this evolution has taken us through editorially driven community sites (slashdot), socially driven bookmarking sites (del.icio.us), and socially driven news sites (digg), but none of them have really managed to figure out how to make the newspaper of the future. just launched knewsroom, one of the first apps from kluster (readwriteweb’s coverage), believes that it has gotten it right, but has it really?

find out in this complete look at knewsroom.

Filed under: social media — muhammad saleem @ 9:17 am

i’ve written a guest post at read/writeweb on how the content promotion algorithm is making the quality on the front page of digg suffer.

note: this isn’t meant as an attack on any user and his or her submissions. all the users mentioned and displayed on the graphs are my friends and i respect their submissions. this post is just meant to point out the flaws of digg’s content promotion algorithm.
